acad2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 What's the difference? What are the pros and cons of each? Quote
SLW210 Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I deleted your other thread, no need for multiple threads. They are completely different programs, each having its own specific purpose. Autodesk Design Review is just that design review with markups, AutoCAD WS is capable of that, also, but is more for collaboration and "live" markups and editing with drawings stored online and accessible through any AutoCAD, web browser, phone APP etc. Quote
acad2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 I'm looking into what program would be best for our company. We need a secure way to share files and would like to be able to use the program through Citrix (which I have found WS works through the internet whereas Design Review is a software that doesn't work on Citrix). Which program in your opinion is more user friendly? Some of our employees need to be able to open up DWG files and do simple markups and plot. Which program is more secure for sharing files through a network? Quote
acad2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 Also wondering if someone accesses a drawing remotely from their iPad or phone, etc. and changes a drawing using WS...will that overwrite the file that is in the network? Or would they have to locate the folder and overwrite it? Quote
SLW210 Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 You edit the file that is uploaded to AutoCAD WS, the file on the company network or your hard drive would be changed on updating. If you do not want editing use Design Review. Not sure if Editing can be prevented on AutoCAD WS, might look into that. Both seem to be equally user friendly to me. Quote
