petryad Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 hi everyone.. i'm in the middle of working highpoly modeling as the following..and i have to fillet all edges in the corners At 1st attempt...i tried to do eyeballing one by one using tube converted into editable poly... but with this kind of multiple shape, that way give me awfully result for sure. So is there any other stronger technique that may come with perfect result? I know about fillet modifier in spline,as well as chamfer modifier in poly but i'm not sure they'll help either thanks in advance for all input Quote
Cad64 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I would create the objects a little differently. I would draw them as splines, apply the "Fillet/Chamfer" modifier in the corners, Convert to Editable Poly and then apply a "Shell" modifier to get the thickness. Quote
Raudel Solis Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 If they are all seperate.. then just simply attach them together.. 3ds max will attach them as seperate elements meaning that you can detach them later.. not sure what you mean by "fillet all edges in corner" but you can easily SHIFT+Click chamfer to adjust the values.. if it does not allow you to chamfer correctly then it must be because of the visible edges position forming a square at the corner.. you can go into the Edges sub-object and move the edges further away from the corner. once done you can easily detach the objects using the element sub-object Quote
