Excel files brought into AutoCAD using a Data Link can be updated via the DATALINKUPDATE command.

What I'm looking for is the inverse of this:

scaled.php?server=849&filename=bbb4.png&res=medium

Without access to the Excel file I can't tell you what the problem might be. I have used the DATALINK and DATALINKUPDATE commands about a dozen times and have never had a problem with updating in either direction.

Did you test this in a new drawing to see if it works?

I'm trying now a new drawing and a new Excel file.

I'll let you know ;)

I don't do videos. Post the Excel file itself.

Your test Excel file update in both directions for me.

Did you save your test drawing before attempting a datalink update?

Not in the video he didn't.

Aslo most times I have to close out the Excell file and reopen it to see the changes. (that's with Map3D)

I did not have to close out then reopen the Excel file. After I changed it I did save it before running DATALINKUPDATE.

That's why I add the "that's with Map3D" to the end :) Map CAN use another method to link to the excel files.

I did not see the save or a Qsave command in the video, and yes the path may be the problem if the folder "TEST" is not in the support / project paths in your options you may need to use the Full Path.
