Bobzy20 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I have AutoCAD 2012 and when printing to PDF on this drawing only it’s coming out blank (nothing in the PDF). All my other drawings work fine. The plot preview seems to be fine also as I can see the drawing ok. Also It takes a lot longer to print on this drawing. It seems to hang around for about 30 secs and then produces a blank PDF. I noticed a plot style pen missing which may cause the problem? Any ideas? Thanks Bob Quote
Dana W Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 If the missing pen is printing all your lines it could be an issue, indeed. Can you post the drawing? More info needed. EDIT: Whups, 2012. I can't open stuff that new. Quote
Bobzy20 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Thanks for the reply. How can I check if that pen is set to print everything? I usually set the plot style to monochrome but it still comes out with nothing. Quote
nicolas Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 You may check the following: - whether the drawing objects are on a non-printable layer or defpoints. - there is a wipeout over the drawing. wipeout, frame, on to see if there is/are any wipeout to the drawing - check "check to scale" and see if there is any chage. if so, it is a scale-related problem. it may have been massively scale up or down. Dana W Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Also, (seems like a silly suggestion but does happen) check to see that your lines are not color 255. 255 is white, not the black/white color 7 that changes to black on a white background. Quote
Bobzy20 Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 Thanks I will check and get back to you. Quote
DANIEL Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 is it only if you print the drawing to pdf? Quote
DANIEL Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 also, may seem silly and i hope not to insult you as even i've made the mistake but make sure if your plotting extents that you don't have something off in the wild blue yonder causing your print to show up as an ittybitty dot .......... Quote

Bleeeve it or not, I just now did that to myself in model at zoom extent. Only, my dot was ittyittyittyittybitty. Found a random center mark about a mile off 0,0, deleted it and poof, the whoie floor plan came into view again. Quote

Bobzy20 Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Strange but it seems to work fine when using the PDF printer that ships with AutoCAD 2012 called ‘DWG To PDF’. This PDF also gives you layer control so that the user can turn the drawings layers on and off. I think I will just say it’s been resolved on this one. Quote
