dahabit Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Hi everyone, I am copying and pasting a block from one drawing to another but as soon as I past it, AutCAD stops responding. I have done purging and auditing and still can't solve the issue. I am using Autocad Architecture 2012. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 All updates to Arch 2012 installed? What is the source of the drawing for the block you are trying to insert? Quote
SLW210 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 What happens if you use the INSERT command or Design Center to insert the block? What are your computer specifications? Quote
dahabit Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 All updates are current. I was working on the same drawing yesterday without any problems. Both drawings are in the same model space. I'm just coping it and dragging to the other drawing. Computer Spec: Intel Core Duo 2.99GHz, 1.85 GB of RAM, Quote
SLW210 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 So you just have one drawing? Are you using the COPY command or Copy/Paste? Quote
ReMark Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Hmmm.....how many other drawings do you have open at the same time? What else is running in the background? Quote
jgbgod Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I normally save my blocks on my local drive and import them rather copying them from another drawing or saving them to the network. Maybe that could be of some assistance. Quote
bigcarpchaser Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Something to do with scale lists rings a bell here...a drawing with a humongous number of these in can sometimes produce this error as I recall but I thought this had been eradicated in the latest versions of autocad? See how many you have in your original drawing, if you have hundreds then they seem to multiply exponentially with every paste. Easy to sort though. Alternatively, you could wblock out the detail, xref it into te new drawing and then bind/bind as block/explode. This sometimes gets you round a cut and paste issue. Used this solution today with a null reference problem. Worked a treat. Quote
