CAD innovate Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Does anyone know of any freeware that will convert dwg to pdf. I have tried wintopo and find it very basic at best. Quote
Tiger Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 There are lots of plotters that plot to PDF; CutePDF, Bluebeam, Adobe has a few - and not to forget that AutoCAD ships with one internal now. Quote
Alexandru Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 1: Command autocad - http://autocad-expert.com/output/export-to-dwfpdf/export/ 2: From dwg to pdf.pc3 - http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=14052185&linkID=9240617 Quote
InvisibleLine Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I think foxit PDF does it for free. I used that prior to getting Adobe Acrobat 9. Its one of those open source or not-for-profit office productivity software releases for those that use Linux or they're just too poor to buy MS Office & Adobe Acrobat. Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Configure this one like you would any other printer. Pen assignments, paper size, orientation, etc....just like it was an actual plotter. I use it all the time. Does a fine job if you take the time to adjust it to your needs. Quote
Spacey Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Just a quick note on DWG to PDF make sure you get the paper size in the right orientation other wise it can cut out pieces of your drawing usually surfaces and hatchings Quote
krazyrooh Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I am using Adobe professional Writer.. very simple to use.. Quote
SLW210 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Wintopo is a Raster to Vector convertor. The OP most likely meant to ask for a PDF to DWG converter. This has been discussed ad nauseum on CADTutor. Try the search on google and/or CADTutor. Quote

I think so too, but 'DWG to PDF' is a much easier question to answer The interesting thing is that the OP have previously recommended Wintopo on this forum, so I wonder what has changed if he is now finding it lacking? SLW210 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Yes he has. Apparently he spoke too soon praising it. P.S. The FREE version does not convert PDF only Image files. Quote
