Steve313 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 I tried many times to paste excel table into autocad using paste special/paste link/autocad entities/. The first problem is that the table is coming out with text all over the place, not properly formatted. When I click on the table it's covered by some kind of frame or hatch-like. I am using 2010 Office pro Excel. See attached. Thanks in advance. Steve Quote
ReMark Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I would not use the Paste Special feature and instead use a Dynamic Link. Dynamic Links were added in 2008. Paste Special is old school. Quote
SLW210 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 No problems here with AutoCAD 2011 and Excel 2003/Excel 2007. I did Paste and Paste Link, perfect each time. Quote
19cruthik68 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 it was once happened to me, what i observed is if the excel file is very big, it will automatically becomes like what you are experiencing. so unfortunately, what ive done there was just used the table in autocad. Quote
jweigle Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Did you ever try CAD Tabletools? The last firm I worked at had that program for bringing in excel sheets into cad drawings. Google it, I think its $40-50 for the download. Good luck. Quote
numberOCD Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 @ReMark Could you clarify the procedure for the dynamic link or at least lead me in the right direction? I am having a lot of trouble finding the information. It all keeps leading me back to the Paste Link. Thanks Quote
numberOCD Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 To better clarify: this assignment will be 2 to 3 times per week for 2 years of updates, where I will need to import either (4) 2x12 cell tables or (6) 2x24 cell tables into each dwg and will likely have and average of 6 dwgs per update. The cell tables are always the exact same range for each of those two layouts, and I will always expand the cells to 1" Tall x 6" Wide in the model space. So would the use of the dynamic link be usable for this formatting? Thanks again Quote
