Derrick022 Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Each software has its own advantages and i think everyone will come across some problems at work. So what will you do when your current software lacks the functions your want or are not powerful enough? To replace it with another software which has powerful such kind of functions but weak for other functions? Or combine the two software for using? Quote
fuccaro Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I often wrote myself Lisp routines to adapt AutoCAD to my needs. Some times I exported data in Excel and continued there. Also sometimes in the old times when I had data available in other format I imported them in Excel and I wrote Excel functions to generate AutoCAd script files. Running those scripts I got AutoCAD to draw me sprockets Quote
ReMark Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 For all the people who forget to save their base geometry when creating 3D solids and surfaces there should be an UN-UNION command. LOL Quote

LOL I think we attribute such an issue to "operator error". Best to set aside some down time and go through all your system defaults. Quote
RobDraw Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 This almost sounds like an advertisement but it doesn't mention a product. Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I would really like a neural interface so all I had to do was think. No keyboard, mouse, tablet...none of that stuff. Just have it read my thoughts. And a rechargeable robot to fetch sandwiches and drinks would be cool too. Quote

Jack_O'neill Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 or at least a full size drawing board or holodeck interface! There was another thread going some time ago along this same line. I mentioned then that I thought a full size drawing board that was both input device and monitor would be cool. Have a few buttons on the sides and input with a stylus. I think that would be great..and faster than mouses or tablets by a long way. Quote
Mike_Taylor Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I think it would be neat to have a HUD for parts of your display. Like showing objects outside of your viewports, your command line etc. Quote
Derrick022 Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 Everyone has his own request. But for myself, I try to adapt the current one since no product is perfect. Quote
