progman Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Hello, I am quite new to AutoCAD and I am currently experimenting with 3D and rendering. I've created my own material from a picture of a tile, and I try to apply it to a wall. I applied a 3D face to the wall, then select the material by layer as I don't want apply the same material to my entire drawing, but the wall comes out as attached?? Can someone please explain why it seems that 3D face is leaving gaps?? I am using the student edition of AutoCAD2010. Thanks!! Quote
fahim108 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 My best guess would be: there are two surfaces overlapping each other. Delete the yellow one and your render would be fine. Quote

When drafting in 3D, is their an easy way to either correct overlaps or at least see the conflicts?? Quote
fahim108 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) The best way of cross checking would be to select the entire object, then hit Ctrl+1 (Properties Flag) and check the number of objects selected. But make sure you are "cross selecting" the object(s) and not "window selecting" them. Edited December 8, 2011 by fahim108 Extra Information Added! Quote
