one25IT Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I want to remove all data labels from a drawing and I want hatches to fill the gaps. All hatches are created as associative fills. When I remove data labels using a Quick Select or Select Similar command only a few neighboring hatch areas are updated. As for the remaining gaps from labels persist. Now I am removing them one by one. Initial state: After removing labels: Any ideas? Quote
CyberAngel Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Try Hatch Edit and Remove Boundaries. The text borders will show up as dashed boxes, which you can remove. Quote
one25IT Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 SLW210, this is the drawing. Drawing3.dwg CyberAngel, could you be more precise? I know that I can remove the holes, which are left after deleting the text, but is there a way to close them all at once? Thanks. Quote
CyberAngel Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 If you have to do it in a hurry, I suppose you could right-click on the hatch and use Set Boundary. That way you only have to select the old exterior boundary, and you can ignore all the interior boundaries. Quote
one25IT Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 There are a lot of hatches and a lot boundaries to take care of. Therefore, it still would be quite time consuming. I ended up leaving the annotations in the drawing. Thanks anyhow. Quote
CyberAngel Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Would it be so hard to tweak the code for hatches, so that boundaries around items on frozen layers don't apply in a viewport? Quote
one25IT Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 It sounds promising, but I fear I can't do it. Maybe in a few months I'll be up to it! Quote
CyberAngel Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Sorry, that wasn't meant for you. Complaining about AutoCAD is one of my hobbies. Not very rewarding, but it passes the time. Quote
