BrentonJohn316
I have been researching this issue and have found numerous people wanting to achieve what I am trying to do. The only stipulation is my company uses AutoCAD 2012 LT. I am not familiar with Lisp/VBA programming codes but I have done an "appload" before, but that does not work with LT versions. Question: How do I update multiple template blocks based off of the first template? Currently we have been using one primary drawing sheet and are now going to be implementing a detail sheet. Any assistance or direction would be appreciated! Thanks! (screen shot attached)
CyberAngel
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. If you want to create a new template based on an old one, you can open the template as if it were a drawing. For that matter, you can create a new drawing and get the same result. Make the desired changes. Save the drawing as a template with a new name.

rkent
Does LT have the Sheet Set Manager? How about Fields?
BrentonJohn316
LT Does support Sheet Set Manager and fields.
rkent
If you haven't started using Sheet Set Manager then maybe just use Fields for now. You can create custom fields in drawing properties, set up attributes to call those fields and when inserting another instance of the title block with those fields they will be populated the same as the first sheet. Changing them from the drawing properties will change every instance of that field.
CyberAngel
Still not sure what the question is. Can't you copy the entire layout and update the title block? Does LT not have that capability?
rkent
I assumed what the OP wanted was to have several layouts and if something in the titleblock needed to be updated they would only update in one location and the changes would show in all of them. So field seems like a good choice. They could also xref in project specific information and then only have to change the xref when it changes, I like this option and use both fields and xrefs for my title blocks. CyberAngel
What do you mean by "data"? Is it the sheet-specific information, the title block, the viewport settings, or something else? Are you using Sheet Set Manager? What do you mean by "transfer"? Should it happen automatically or manually? Without more information, we're just guessing.
