CADmonkey36 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 It's good to hear I'm not alone! I use black MS and black PS, 100% crosshair, and 90% Aliases. The new auto lookup of the aliases is a great addition. It seems like over the years many new CAD monkeys are using the menus and ribbons for everything. To each their own but no one can figure out why I am so fast. 1 command=1 button. I do feel as though Autodesk is working very hard to Push users to the ribbon format so I may be in trouble in a few years. Quote
abam_designer Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I use color 250 in both model and layout, as it seems to be easier on my eyes (fewer headaches). Black just makes the colors too harsh for me. Quote
SteelDetailerLA Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Black but I have the brightnes on my monitor turned down to 75%, works for me Quote
seetzer7 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 pure black = Model&Paper. White is too bright Quote
seetzer7 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I also hate the ribbons and am in love with aliases. I always customize my shortcuts and use the keyboard as much as possible. Quote
Memnon Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Pure black for the background. Crosshair at 100% Crosshair color set to 232,74,95 (a red/rose hue) Quote
mrdjezmin Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Black in model sapace, white on layouts. If it ain't broke don't fix it Quote
Maxelkat Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I use 204,255,204 as my model space background. It's a gorgeous pale green and has a very soothing effect when I'm working. Quote
EMS_0525 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Black model, black paper, and black command line with white text. Quote
ORgrown Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I've played around with the background until I got to RGB 104, 112, 120 - a gray that is not too light, not too dark. Contrast has been my problem...cyan, yellow, and even magenta and green are too bright against a black background and I cannot see them effectively against a white. Quote
aburtz Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I've used black on model and paper space....just how my dad taught me. I have tried white and that default blue color for 2013, it just hurt my eyes Quote
Cad64 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 純黑色的模型及紙。白色太傷眼 Google Translate = "Pure black model and paper. The white too hurt eye" Please post in English. Quote
CADLee Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I just started to use 167 for the background. looks like the original blueprint with white crosshairs. And of course white in paper space Quote
Currahee Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I just started to use 167 for the background. looks like the original blueprint with white crosshairs. And of course white in paper space Hey, I like that!!! Reminds me of running blueprints off when I was in high school 28 yrs ago!! Quote
stevsmith Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I used to use black, but I quite like the new Dark blue colour that was brought in. Quote
PotGuy Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I use default AutoCAD settings, but I changed my cursor to Blue. Quote
neophoible Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I prefer black backgrounds for Spaces & BEdit. Cursor 100% for quickly assessing alignment (but I don't rely on it). Still, I'm open to changing if I find ideas here or elsewhere that appeal. Some sound intriguing. Red for BG does not appeal at all. Quote
Blur314 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Hi, =) As many others Black model and Black Paper, and just a bit of grey in previews. 251 for Block editor. White hurts too much when I change from one view to another. Quote
rkent Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Model background - 71,77,82 (dark gray) Crosshairs - magenta Cursorsize - 2 (certain defined commands toggle it automatically to 100 and back again to 2.) Layout background - 236,236,233 (off white, hints of light green) Crosshairs - blue I am using the Display Plot Styles in the pagesetup and the shades of gray show up pretty well with out the display being too bright for the eyes.
