f700es Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Revolve is the command you want to research Quote
SLW210 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Then you need to learn about LOFT, EXTRUDE, PRESSPULL. Look around, there should be some threads on Wheels and Tires. Quote
miedy12 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 if i remember revolve is the command that u can make a half right? likfe 360 degrees? Quote
SLW210 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 (edited) Yea, just draw a cross section of the rim and revolve. Like this. Edited October 6, 2011 by SLW210 Some folks are too picky. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 You might want to set viewres 2000 facetres 10 Quote
miedy12 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 thanks i just make a rim but my problem is the center part . i cant find wheels and tires section here? Quote
miedy12 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 cand someone help e to make like this the center part? all i did ws the first one but the center i dont have idea ":( Quote
f700es Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 OK this took all of 5 minutes... Get reference image, google is a good start Bring into AutoCAD. Draw the cross section of the wheel. And revolve it around a center point (Edit: be sure to use a closed polyline) Draw a smaller circle and array it around the wheels center point. Extrude the holes enough to pass through the center of the wheel. Subtract the tubes from the wheel and there you go. You can also use the same method to make the holes for the lugs. Good luck. Quote
SLW210 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 You might want to set viewres 2000 facetres 10 Why? .......... Quote
miedy12 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 f7 thank but im trying to figure out what's is the number thingy and also just for testing i just draw that and when im in revolve mode i dont know where is the end axis to put Quote
miedy12 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 does anyone know where is the endpoint of that picture above? Quote
JD Mather Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Click two points on the vertical line (as shown in the picture) that is your axis of revolution. You don't actually need the line - but good practice so that you can presicely locate your axis. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 The "number thingy" if you are referring to facetres = 10 is so that you don't come back here and ask, "Why does my wheel look like a Fred Flinstone rock? (ugly faceted faces)" (see image posted earlier) Quote
miedy12 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 hey JD hmmm where to put viewres and facetres? Quote
miedy12 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 i still have a problem in revolve command finding the axis. and i still dont understand the picture did he used pedit? offset? join? Quote
JD Mather Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Doesn't really matter - as far as getting revolve to work. If not pedit - joined (which it should be) it will result in surface rather than solid - but should still work. Quote
