wings Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I am wondering why I am unable to see the linetypes properly when the LT scale is set. For example a dashed line drawn in model space with the LT scale set at 48 normally shows a correct spacing between the dashes. It worked fine this morning, but for some reason it does not show properly this afternoon, and is a continuous line. No matter what I seem to do, I can't get the line to show up as dashed. I "regenall", set the lt scale to 1, then back to 48, set the psltscale to 0 then to 1 (just for kicks). I've exited the drawing and come back to it, and still the result is the same. I don't know what else to do. This seems to happen every so often, and I don't know why. I am using Autocad 2009. Thanks for any input. Quote
nestly Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) There are lots of causes (one of the most obscure is the Visual Style) Post a sample drawing if possible for the fastest solution. Normally, I recommend MSLTSCALE and PSLTSCALE = 1 CANNOSCALE = 1:1 Visual Style = 2Dwireframe REGEN but since you're using an LTSCALE of 48, you probably need to set CANNOSCALE to 1/8" = 1' Edited September 21, 2011 by nestly Quote
bennyboy86 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 easy question but did you change the linetype scale from the original scale you had? i found it easier to keep all linetype scales to 1, then cant go wrong. Quote
wings Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 Here are some screen shots: - First one psltscale at 1 (captured through PS) - Second one ltscale at 48 (captured through MS) Been using cad since 1994 and never heard of Cannoscale until today. I will have to check that out and see what that is. Benny, I am not sure I follow you about "changing the linetype scale from the original scale". When I work in model space, I change the ltscale back and forth depending on what scale I am looking to plot in paper space. For example if I want to see lineweights that will plot out in 1/4" I set to 48, but if I want to see 1/8" I set to 96, etc. This is going to sound really pathetic, but it wasn't until a few weeks back that I discovered I could lock viewports and work in model space via paperspace without messing upi the scale of that drawing in the viewport. I've been on and off of the cad boards for years while as I've been managing and not drafting. Due to cuts at our office I am back on the boards again as well, so I am discovering new things that take me way beyond my R14 days. Quote

Changing CANNOSCALE (Current Annotation Scale) does exactly the same thing as changing LTSCALE, but it only does it in that viewport, without changing the linetype display in any other viewport or layout. Sphiinx Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 You can change a single item LT Scale w/o changing the whole drawing. Command: Change (or "-ch"), (click the line), Prop, LTSCALE, and you can just manage that one line w/o effecting everything else. Quote
