Need some Help with Tension Spring

Hi there,

 

wanna ask some advise on how you guys do this on 3d modelling.Im currently working with this drawing and having some hard time to get this right. I want to create a 3d model of Tension Spring, i was able to create the tension spring but i cant create and connect the end hook on both ends of the spring. I attached the file for your reference.Thanks in advance.more power!

Why not just draw the entire path and sweep?

I think it will take more than one sweep in AutoCAD.

Putting a hook on a real spring with a pair of pliers is really easy, but I'm not really sure how you'd draw a smooth transition from the coil to the hook?

Thanks man..il try it..but may i ask what type of line should i use on the end hook of the spring? it needs to be on the center of both ends..

I would give fuccaro's LISP a try, should be good enough.

Maybe, I will have to look at it a little more. Unless you are checking for clearances I see no need to be ultra accurate with the end hooks.
