nicnicman Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Is there an easy way to change the shape of a circle? There are only four grips on the circle when selected. Is there a way to make more so that I have many areas to pull from and change the shape of the circle. I want to take an ordinary circle and put a small dent in it. Thanks for any suggestions. Quote
PS_Port Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 My suggestion would be to draw a normal circle, then draw the dent with a seperate pline, pedit the pline to a spline, smoother and easier to manipulate, Then when your dent is how you like it trim the unwanted part of the circle. you can also pedit-join the segemnt back to one piece if req'd. just my 2c probably a million other ways. Strix Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 is this a regular or random 'dent'? if it has a definition, you could for instance, draw a CIRCLE or ARC to describe the dent, then use a FILLET to smooth it into your circle Quote
nicnicman Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 For some reason I can't get fillet to work on this. I've tried many different sizes for the fillet radius but I still cannot see the fillet. Thanks nick Quote
nicnicman Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 Don't know what I was doing wrong before but it seems to work fine now. Quote
nicnicman Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 It must have been because I used the pedit command on the circle. Once it was exploded it worked fine. Quote
