GGuzzler Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) Hi all, We recently received a .dwg from an architect and now whenever we paste in splines, they do not display correctly. Here are some screenshots. The one labelled 'Comparison' shows the difference between the splines! The curved, closed object at the bottom left of the first picture is how it ought to display. Could anyone suggest what might be causing this strange state of affairs? I'm fairly new to AutoCAD - used it for just about a year, really. Any help gratefully appreciated!! SEANT Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 You may have to attach a drawing (just with the pertinent entities) for us to completely understand the situation. It does look similar to the situation addressed here: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-2011/Problem-with-cuve-form-Pro-E-export/m-p/2898810 Note: The above link may not take you directly to a forum post. GGuzzler Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Here's the file. Hope this helps. SK02 Site Plan P2v2.dwg Thanks! G Quote
SEANT Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 It was the same issue. See images and the attached DWG. SK02 Site Plan P2v2_SplineFix.dwg Quote
GGuzzler Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Thanks SEANT - However, I can't alter that in AutoCAD LT 2010, can I? Is there a way? Quote
SEANT Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 You will have to tell me. I don’t have access to AutoCAD LT. With the Properties Pallet open (The left pane in my attached images), if you select one of the problem splines in your original file does it show “Start Tangent Vector” and “End Tangent Vector”. If it does, change all the numbers to 0. Quote
GGuzzler Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 It shows it, but the box is greyed out. Annoying. Any ideas? Another setting to give me access perhaps? Thanks for all your help so far! G Quote
SEANT Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 That’s not a good sign. Perhaps try SPLINEDIT. See the command sequence below: Command: splinedit -Enter- Select spline: Enter an option [Close/Join/Fit data/Edit vertex/convert to Polyline/Reverse/Undo/eXit] : f -Enter- Enter a fit data option [Add/Close/Delete/Kink/Move/Purge/Tangents/toLerance/eXit]: t -Enter- Specify start tangent or [system default]: s -Enter- Specify end tangent or [system default]: s -Enter- Enter a fit data option [Add/Open/Delete/Kink/Move/Purge/Tangents/toLerance/eXit]: -Enter- Enter an option [Open/Fit data/Edit vertex/convert to Polyline/Reverse/Undo/eXit] : -Enter- Quote
GGuzzler Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 That seems to be working now, thanks so much! The only difference between AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT here is that "Specify start tangent or [system default]" and "Specify end tangent or [system default]" are merged into one step in LT - "Specify tangent or [system default]". Many thanks again SEANT! G Quote
