khoshravan Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I have drawn a drawing with AutoCAD and made a jpeg photo by print screen. Now I have lost the original AutoCAD file but have the jpeg file. Is it possible to recover the file through the jpeg print screen file? Quote
Organic Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Basically, no it is not. There are programs out there that claim to be able to, although it will make an AutoCad drawing where text is made up of thousands of little lines, every line is made up of thousands of pieces etc and is fuzzy. I.e. it is unworkable. The best option is to insert the JPEG into a new drawing, scale it up, and manually trace/redraw it. Quote
Tiger Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 JPGIN? (That is a joke, there is no such thing. I think.) I would say your SOL Khosh - what Dink (sidenote, just realised that I do in fact know what Dink stands for! *slow tiger*) suggests is probably your best course of action. Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I will echo the rest...there is software out there that will do it, but you won't like the results. You'll spend far more time detecting and fixing everything it does wrong than it will take to just draw it again. Quote
