Hi all,

Pretty basic/noob question, my command box has mysteriously vanished (more than likely my own doing) and I would really like it back!

Where can I find it!

cheers!!

Try Crtl +9 keys or type in _commandline. If that doesn't work try to minimizes AutoCAD, it may be hidden behind the ACAD window.

Ctrl +9 worked straight up :)

thanks for the help mate!

I renamed your thread. It is known as the command line.

I have 2015 and I have no command line I have tried Ctrl +9. This only make a couple lines appear for a few seconds and then they fade away. Does anyone know how to get my command line back. I type 90% of my commands and have never used buttons so this is killing me on time.

Are you using an imported custom layout?

When I upgraded to 2015 my previous 2014 layout lost the command line so I had to restart it to find the command line.

No I had one when I first installed I set up my classic view the last week the command line disappear. It never bothered me until the last couple days when I am doing commands inside of commands and need to read my input. Also using f2 won't work because it is docked to the lower left corner and I cannot seem to turn off the docking

Try using AutoCAD Help. Search on COMMANDLINE. Topics covered include: Docking, Floating, Anchoring, Resizing and Hiding the command line.

Once I docked my command line it remained static and no longer transparent.

I worded my answer poorly, I had it to start with then something happened or something I did caused it to move just off of the screen. I was unable to grab it or move it and like you said F2 does nothing. So I remade the layout but this time I used ribbons and I've never had the problem since. I put it down to the fact that it had been imported in through several versions of AutoCAD and LT.

I hope someone can help you with a fix rather than a work around.

I don't think it is truly docked as it is fading away. It only does that when it is floating.

What ReMark said about docking it works or if you prefer it floating, right click on the command line for transparency options.

My problem is I don't have a command line to click on it literally is nonexistent. I attached a pic of my screen the command thing you see is if I use ctrl +9 but it fades away after about 5 seconds. An example of a command I cannot use is pedit I can click the line but once I try to use the E for edit vertex it will end the command. I don’t know if in 2015 they have changed the command or options in it and I cannot get the stupid fading command thing to show up until I end the command and then it only shows the last 2 commands. Pedit and end....

To solve your problem dock the command line.

I don't mean to sound dumb but how, I cant click on it and I cant drag it.

It almost looks like your command line is off the bottom of the screen. Perhaps try re-docking it via the CUI. Click for demo --> LINK

Did you try changing workspaces?

Did you try resetting your Profile?
