khoshravan Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Is there any size limitation for uploading .wdg files to this forum? Quote
Cad64 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Khoshravan, please post your non Autocad questions about the forum in the Feedback section. This is the third question I've moved today. I'm not sure what a .wdg file is, but the size limit for .dwg files is 250kb. Quote

SLW210 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 You can also upload it as a zip file if needed. Quote
ReMark Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Yes, there are size limitations based on file type. Quote
Organic Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 On that matter, why limit .dwg files to 250kb these days? A limit of 5mb is more realistic for 2011 and bandwidth/storage is extremely cheap today compared to that of 10 years ago. Quote

I think the problem is with CT's server limitation for accepting the uploaded files. I see my old files which I have uploaded in the past and I don't need them to be there anymore, still sits in CT's server. But I have a suggestion, I think it should be better to set a time limit for uploaded files, to be deleted after a month or so or put an option whether the author wants the files to be kept or allowed to be deleted after a period of time. In this way the burden on CT server will decrease and they can save resources:) What other members think about? Edited July 27, 2011 by khoshravan correct misstyping Quote
CADTutor Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 There is no problem in increasing the upload limit. I haven't reviewed this for a while and it's probably due for an update, so I'll take a look at it. There is no facility within vBulletin to place a time limit on attachments but it would be a useful feature. Quote
CADTutor Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) OK, I've reviewed the file attachments situation and the new settings are given below. I have increased most of the max file sizes and have added a lot more formats, specifically for Revit, Inventor, Microstation and SketchUp and some others. Any formats not covered can be zipped. Comments or suggestions welcome: FORMAT SIZE WIDTH HEIGHT 3ds 512000 ai 512000 bmp 256000 800 600 csv 256000 dcl 51200 dgn 512000 doc 256000 docx 256000 dwf 512000 dwg 1024000 dxf 1024000 eps 512000 gif 512000 800 600 ipn 512000 ipt 512000 jpeg 256000 800 600 jpg 256000 800 600 lsp 256000 max 1024000 pdf 512000 png 256000 800 600 ppt 512000 pptx 512000 psd 512000 rfa 512000 rvt 512000 scr 51200 skp 1024000 sldasm 512000 slddrw 512000 sldprt 512000 txt 256000 xls 256000 xlsx 256000 zip 512000 If your favourite format is not included, let me know. Thanks for the update. This really helps especially in the DWG format. While your at it though, could the GIF file sized be increased to min 512k. This would really help since GIF animations are hard to get under 500k with any useful length. Thanks Again. KC Quote
