wmoesser Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Where can I get or where do I go to get a double angle symbol in Autocad. I work with structural steel and we call out double angles from time to time and would love a command that would give me a double angle symbol. Thanks Quote
DANIEL Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I've been using an mtext symbol as a work around, there may and probably is a better way but heres a screen shot of what i've been using, unfortunately limits your font capabilitys and in my opinion doesnt look the way I'd want but its quicker and easier than anything else I've come across and atleast allows for some standardization. SLW210 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Why not just make a block? What exactly are you wanting? UNICODE for text. Quote

SLW210 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 the problem with a block is that this symbols is almost always needed in a text string .... Not necessarily, I have often placed blocks in with my text or more so, created an attributed block with the symbol drawn as part of the block. Most times it is easier than looking through UNICODE or Character Map. Quote
DANIEL Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I like the attribute idea, in fact when i get some time next week thats what i'm doing ... now to prepare for all the idiots here that i'll need to address concerning my new standard block ....... Quote
Ollie8974 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Is this what you are looking for? To insert geometric symbols in the notes that are placed on the drawing. Use the font named GDT.SHX. This font will you to type normal letters and geometric symbols (using lower case letters on the keyboard), in the same sentence, by toggling the SHIFT key up and down with the CAPS LOCK on. Quote
SLW210 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 No in Texas they call that the "W is Greater" symbol. This was quick and dirty. A dynamic block would be more versatile. Quote
