raymarcher Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 How can I project/attach/drape streets and building contour lines on a 3d mesh terrain in autocad maps 3d? Quote
ReMark Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Draping map data over 3D surfaces is covered in your Map 3D Help file isn't it? Quote
raymarcher Posted June 30, 2011 Author Posted June 30, 2011 The problem is that the geometry are seperate "3d face" objects, how can I merge all those triangles to one surface, also, when I finaly have the surface with the draped polylines, is it possible to export the draped 3D polylines as a separate dwg? Do you know any good links in the help file, about working with surfaces and closed polylines. I fin it difficult to find the right information or more complete information in the documentation. Are there other good online resources regarding autocad? I know Lynda.com and this site but they are very general in knowledge. tnx Quote
Murph_map Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Map3D uses raster surfaces for draping vector objects over. You either need to create raster from your TIN or use Civil3D and create a Civil 3D surface. Quote
