mikemarcos Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 wzzzup, my problem looks like this: i have to create a road from google earth to autocad. i allready converted the coordinate from " ' and degrees into x y z coordinates but this did not work can someone else sugest something else?or a program that converts geometric coordinates into autocad drawings? i own you one thanks aloooot Quote
Organic Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 What is your level of experience with AutoCad? It shouldn't be hard to approximately draw in a road on top of a Google Earth aerial image and then move it to the approximate coordinates. It won't be that accurate remember though. Quote
mikemarcos Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 THAKS, i can manage with autocad do you knoww any tools or programs to drawn a schetch in google earth? Quote
eldon Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I already converted the coordinate from " ' and degrees into x y z coordinates but this did not work Did you remember that a degree in the North-South direction is not the same length as a degree in the East-West direction Have you tried to set the Show Lat/Long to Universal Transverse Mercator when you are using Google Earth? mikemarcos Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 let's say I had the coordinates corectly converted how do I get them in autocad? Quote
eldon Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I am not sure whether this is a trick question, but I would just draw it in AutoCAD. Perhaps you are looking for a magic way, where you just press a button Have you tried Plexscape? Quote
Tiger Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 How do you have the X,Y,Z-coordinates? On a piece of paper? - start a PLIne and input coordinates In an excel/text/csv file? - check out Lees Pointmanger (http://lee-mac.com/ptmanager.html) A drawing file? - see if its a format that AutoCAD can Import under the Import menu under File (or 'A') Quote
mikemarcos Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 I tried ToolTp I have the ccordinates in excel in. I'v converted them with transdatro i will try out these methods , and reply with a result 10x verry much Quote
mikemarcos Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 weel eldon, i have to say that plexscape did the trick but i still can't manage to convert geometric coordonates to autocad points anyway i own you a berr or something like that cheeers:D Quote
SLW210 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Try the Google Earth extension from AutoDesk Labs. As far as inserting points to coordinates, it would be easier IMHO to use excel and a script. Search on CADTutor, there are several threads. Quote
mikemarcos Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 thanks dude, but I allready have the coordinates, i needed to insert them from a text file into autocad , an d i used topolt. it work great chears  Quote
