dulerong Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Hi all, Problem: Green Surface = Extruded Surface Red Surface = Lofted Surface I'm trying to subtract the green surface from the red surface. Commands Tried: - Subtract - Surftrim So far these two didn't work out very well. "Subtract" didn't do anything at all, while "Surftrim" helped me to get rid of anything outside of the cutting surface. But the problem: After Surftrim, the lofted surface's inside shows out, and I found out that it's not solid/filled inside, but rather it's a hollow space inside the lofted surface. I'm trying to create a fan blade, and using that green surface as a shape-maker. Anyone has any idea? P.S. dulerong Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) Hi Kencaz, Thank you for your reply and file. Question: Your blade is 3D Solid, when I checked its property. What function did you use to join up the "regioned profile faces" to make it a 3D Solid? Also, what function did you use to trim the area outside of the extruded surface off of the 3D solid? - Neither "Subtract" nor "Surftrim" works for me. ***Actually "Slice" worked for me. ***For some reason, LOFT keeps creating surface for me, I set the mode = SOLID but it still ends up being a surface Actually I just found my own solution to the LOFTing problem. Problem: I regioned the polyline spaces before LOFTing them. This actually made LOFT command "UNABLE" to make it into a 3D Solid. I don't know why, and hopefully someone can tell me, but so far I've managed to get my 3D Solid off of LOFT. Thanks for your help once again Edited June 13, 2011 by dulerong Quote
