Which version of Visual C to start ARX?

Hello everybody,

several years ago, when programming in C language for AutoCAD just was possible in "Watcom C", I wrote some ADS applications. Now, please guide me how to start ARX programming by answering to these questions:

1- Which version of Visual C is needed to make applications in AutoCAD R2010, 2011, and 2012.

2- Is there any help or "know how" document to do it step by step?

3- Is there any better method(s) to do the task of making windows (forms) as well writing object oriented codes?

1. I believe that would be Visual Studio 2008.

3. There is ManagedARX(.NET). If you decide to use one of the .NET languages then you would need Visual Studio 2010 to debug AutoCAD 2012 (because that AutoCAD version targets .NET Framework 4.0).
