why does it zoom IN after zooming extents?

it was just a glitch.

I WBLOCKed the drawing in an attempt to get it to work properly, successfully. However the original started zooming correctly too. Oh well, the joys of AutoCAD.

never seem it zooming in befre, but i sometimes get it zooming out further than it should, even when there is definitely no objects hidden, base points and other stuff in the blank space.

it happens with me all the time. and in that situation, not only zoom extent but even zoom 'real time' or 'pan' does not work and after i play a little with keyboard & my laptop mouse it starts behavig normally.

yes, out is pretty normal although usually down to a turned off layer or sometimes a null text entry or a 0 length line. I had never seen in before. Shame I fixed it so easily. :D

yes it was quite a pain getting all the way out! I could only scroll "so far" before I had to regen and pan a bit further.
