tennis4you Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I like the text spacing to be set to "Multiple" @ .89x. The default seems to be 1.0x. Where in the template file can I get it to default to .89x? I see in the text editor I have the option to modify each individual multiple line text, but I see no where under "format" can I do it globally. Thanks! Quote
Dana W Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 It is not supposed to be global. Global is not versatile. The Text style create or modify dialog window is used to set up multiple custom text styles. It allows you to set both width factor and height for each style. Quote
tennis4you Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 But is there a setting that will make my text spacing automatically be .89x instead of 1.0x? I like the text spacing to be a little tighter. Quote
rkent Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 TSPACEFAC is the sysvar, not saved anywhere, you could have it in a lisp file to set that each time. TIL: there is a command in 2012 called TSPACEINVADERS Quote
tennis4you Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 I am on 2012 LT so I believe LISP is not an option? I am new to AutoCAD so I am not ever sure what LISP is yet anyways. I find it odd though that there is not a place you can change the default line spacing in. So AutoCAD only gives you one default option for that? Quote

tennis4you Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 Kinda. But is there a way to have it defaulted at .89x? You can also changed the text spacing on the "paragraph" button on that same tool bar. But I do not want to have to change every multi-line piece of text I ever place, that would be a huge pain. I know you can do macros in LT so that would be one way, the text command would have the tspacefac set prior to text starting. You could also have a script which could be called from your startup shortcut when starting acad, this might not work for thie next drawing you open from auto cad however. Quote
Dana W Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 (edited) TIL: there is a command in 2012 called TSPACEINVADERS Really? I got a macro that sets TMSPACMAN and TMSLCMND to 1, but I get "Unknown Command" for TSPACEINVADERS. You sure it's not abbreviated in some way? In my opinion, a global setting for any text variable would be counter to the intent of the available functionality. It'd be like making all cars run the same size tires. You should be able to type at the command line TSPAC and see the three commands that start with those letters. I am using Mechanical 2012 but I wouldn't think that would matter. Quote
Dana W Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Well, OK. Still no Space Invaders. But TSPA and TSTA work well in the F1 index search, but not in command line, at least not in LT. I get TSTSTACKSIZE, TSPACEFAC, TSPACETYPE, TSTACKALIGN. Quote

No point in me even trying it. LT don't got no express tools. There is no Autocomplete either. Ya' gets what ya pays for. Quote
