amerdsp Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Hello all, I am trying to model something similar to 35mm film. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Hints, pointers, tutorials? Thank you for your time and help. Amer Quote

gnusselt Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Need help in creating a fishing net. The net is glued to two metal sticks that moves around, like a lady's japanese fan. I don't want animation, just to create it. Any ideas please ? Quote
JD Mather Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Loft Texture Attach what you have been able to complete so far. Quote
gnusselt Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Thank you for your answer but i can't get it right. I need to create a cone of net attached to the metal sticks you see in the following pictures. The sticks are 10 degrees inclined for the horizontal. Quote
kencaz Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 You can revolve a spline as a surface then thicken... I used the expanded metal texture to get the net... Keep in mind you can only scale it so big, so you may have to use a bitmap... Quote
gnusselt Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Thank you for your answer. I created 2 circles in parallel planes and then used loft and shell 1mm thick. But, although it looks great in assembly environment, it looks like a solid surface in Drawing environment and i can't see through the net the rest of the assembly. I really need this wireframe 'base view'. Quote
JD Mather Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 You will have to use a shaded view in drawing. Quote
gnusselt Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 I need to use wireframe because it is going for a patent verification and the organization wants the sketch to be simple wireframe. No shading, no materials. If i use emboss ? Will it do the work ? Quote
JD Mather Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Use Inventor Studio and set to Render - Illustration. Quote
gnusselt Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 I tried but it end up with a black model in a gray background. I suppose it has to do with the lighting... tried a few settings but with the same result. :-( Quote
