Hello,

I am having problems with huge dwg files. I did Purge, Wblock, delete viewports, layer filters and still no good effect. I found out that there is one utility called CDG Purge 4.0 which should help cure large files. However it's site is dead.

Maybe anyone of you still have this CDG Purge 4.0?

There is a program called Superpurge, just search for it. I posted the link somewhere yesterday.

Save more often. Also use AutoSave.

Sucks when you pass right by one of those 'obvious signs', huh!?

What size is the file and what problems are you having?

What is "extra large"? The last two files I worked on yesterday were 10MB and 38MB.

Some suggestions.

1. Use the Overkill command to delete duplicate entities.

2. Delete any images.

3. Make use of Xrefs.

4. Use the commandline version of Purge ( -purge ) and make sure to purge Regapps.

5. Clean up your Scalelist.

Have you run an Audit on any of these files?

I'm sorry you didnt save and make a copy of your work before trying that program, but Autocad should be able to recover from a crash well it has for me in the past
