MetsoKyle Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Hello All, I have a co-workers machine that freezes durring startup. He is running Acad ME 2010 and everything starts up correct until it get to " _RIBBON" in the command line. After that it just freezed and stops starting up. When I go into task manager it says its "not responding" I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Acad twice to no avail. Any ideas? Quote
rkmcswain Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Have you tried killing the InfoCenter? (See http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/running-process-wscommcntr1-exe-tip6914 ) See also: http://support.autodesk.com/getDoc.asp?id=TS84445 Quote
MetsoKyle Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 neither of those options worked. I just looked in "windows Task Manager" again and it says acad.exe is at 50 in the CPU column using 210,420 K of Mem. Usage. I alsmost wonder if its a virus...... Quote
Organic Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Probably a stupid question, but have you restarted the machine? Try running it with the firewall/antivirus disabled as this can cause problems and see what happens. Quote
ReMark Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Please follow AutoDesk's advice regarding uninstalling AutoCAD in preparation for a clean install. The information is available at the AutoDesk website. Quote
MetsoKyle Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 @Dink87522, I have tried restarting several times. I think the comp. has a virus. Our IT guy is looking at it right now. I'll post when I find something out. Quote
