ReMark Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 more food for thought...thank you..! No more information forthcoming? You left a handful of questions unanswered. Oh well.....good luck with whatever approach you take. I hope you are able to see and print your drawings in some way, shape or form. Quote
icameron Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 I am going to try your two suggested options..feel a little overwhelmed..thank you very, very much...t Quote

SLW210 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 You could just download the trial version of AutoCAD 2012. Quote
icameron Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Unfortunately we have already used that up...but thank you for the suggestion.. Quote
Cad64 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 quick question can everybody read everybody's questions and answers... Yes, everyone can read everyone's questions and answers, so you don't have to reply individually to each person. Just download and install DWG Trueview, as previously suggested. It's free and it will allow you to view and print your drawings. Quote
icameron Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Thank you EVERBODY for being so helpful. TrueView worked like a charm....! Quote
SLW210 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Why do you need AutoCAD?How is 2009 going to make any difference in relation to 2005? I'm lost! Your new laptop will be 64-bit. AutoCAD 2009 will not install just as 2005 is too old to install (because these are 32-bit apps). In any case, you don't need AutoCAD to open AutoCAD dwg files. I can order new laptops with Windows 7 Professional 32-bit all day long. Quote
ReMark Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 And they all lived happily ever-after. The End. Quote
JD Mather Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I can order new laptops with Windows 7 Professional 32-bit all day long. And I'm quite sure that is what the OP did. Quote
