union crown molding

how can i join these 2 pieces of crown moldings?

ive created them in polyline and then extruded them

Assuming you have the moulding profile I would have either used Sweep or Extrude with a path comprised of a right angle polyline.

Californo:

draw a construction 3Dpolyline along the two walls. type SWEEP , Select 2d moulding profile, Select Construction line as your sweep path. Erase the construction line.

Draw a right angle polyline.

Locate your crown moulding profile at one end.

Extrude this profile along the polyline path.

Result:

 

 

You will get a nice sharp, well-defined corner at the bend. Trust me on this.
