visith Posted April 1, 2011 Author Posted April 1, 2011 Hello, can some one show me how to draw a 3D drill bit in Auto CAD2007? Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) You will have to make use of the Helix command I imagine. Are you familiar with it? Sweep may come in handy as well. Take a look at this too: http://en.allexperts.com/q/AutoCAD-1029/Helix.htm Edited April 1, 2011 by ReMark Quote
ReMark Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 visith: There is no need to double post. It just causes confusion when people start responding to both threads and makes following the conversation difficult. Plus you allowed only 4 minutes to go by before double posting. Please be patient. We are all volunteers here and due to time differences across the globe your thread may not get enough "eyes" on it for a while. Thanks. Quote

fuccaro Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) Probable the most difficult part is the twisted part. Draw the cross section as a closed polyline. Draw a line from its centerpoint, perpendicular to its plane. Swept the profile along the line with the Twist option. Edited April 2, 2011 by fuccaro adding an image Quote
fuccaro Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Threads merged here. Visith: as ReMark said in the third post... Quote
