I was also getting that message. I disable XML HTTP 6.0 from the IE9 - Manage Add-ons menu and the problem has stopped.

I have subsequently re-enabled that add-on and, fortunately, the problen has yet to reappear.

Had same problem one day last week and then again yesterday. Did nothing and now today...no problem.
