santoshvema Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Hello Everyone, I have a 3d point cloud data of human head. I have attached few markers (sphere/hemispheres) to the head before scanning the head with laser scanner. I need to find the location (xyz coordinates) of these markers. I was wondering if anyone could help in identifying these markers through shape/pattern recognition or any other technique so that I get the location of the markers, Thanks in advance. Thanks Santosh Quote
Sittingbull Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Have you tried Quick Select? What Autocad program are you using? Quote
santoshvema Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011 That was fast reply, I'm not using any Autocad software. I'm trying to do this in matlab. I can plot the data and pick the points manually, but I want to do this automatically without me picking the points. Quote
Sittingbull Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I have no experience with matlab at all. No filter options any kind? Layers? Did you check the help files? Is there any programming interface? If so, what language does it support? Quote
santoshvema Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011 Thanks for your reply. The language is similar to C but matlab has few code which can recognize shapes in 2d images but I wanted to do the same in 3d point cloud data. Quote
Sittingbull Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Try these? http://www.google.be/#hl=en&source=hp&biw=1676&bih=883&q=matlab+forum&aq=f&aqi=g1g-m1g-v3g-b4&aql=&oq=&fp=d1b4730de414d0e Regards, SB Quote
