qball Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I understand there are websites that you can upload a file and they will make it so it goes to someone's fax machine. I also understand that if my computer is directly hooked up to a fax machine with a phone cable that I can add a Fax machine as a Printer to my PC and send directly as well. What I am having trouble finding is if I can send from PC to a fax machine at a jobsite using the following: PC with Windows XP HP Laserjet M5035 (this is our office fax machine. it is not directly hooked up to my computer, but has the ability to email to any email address) I came across this article, but it's a bit over my head http://www.techrepublic.com/article/save-money-on-phone-lines-with-windows-server-2003-fax-service/5148992 has anybody done this in their office and can offer assistance? mdbdesign Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 You need fax modem in your computer and phone line hook up to this modem. Don't need to be connected to fax machine - you will using internal winfax. Run winfax, attach all pages you need to fax and that it. It is usefull when you on job site without internet but phone line. You can send fax from laptop (in this case). Quote
