viriato79 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Is there any Autodesk Program that does automatically the drawing of a longitudinal profile of a pipeline based on a table information or other font? Thanks Quote
CarlB Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 If you have information in an Excel or ascii file it may be possible to create a profile with just a few steps. What do you have - distance and elevation at points along a profile? Quote
viriato79 Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 I have pipe distance to origin, elevation and pressure (elevation) in points along the pipeline. Quote
CarlB Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 You may have to do a little formatting of your data file, to get it in the form of: x1,y1 x2,y2 etc... If you have dat in Excel colums yoyu can combine into 1 column with a formula: =a1&","&a2 In AutoCAD start the "pline" command; when prompted for points copy and paste the coordinate information from the file and the polyline will be drawn through the points. If "pressure" is a separate eleavation to be drawn, you'll need 2 separate polylines, the second one using "pressure" as the y value. I'm sure I did't understand your problem fully so hit me with followup questions. Quote
