jreeder Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 How can I expand a border by the same amount in all directions? I have this: drawing and I want to expand the green border by 275 microns. Scaling from a base point doesn't work for what I want because then the new border is not the same distance from the old one all the way around. Thanks for any help. Quote
tzframpton Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 User the OFFSET command. This will offset the green line the exact same on all sides. A quick tip: make sure the green line is a POLYLINE and it will Offset the entire line all at once. If it's not a polyline, use the JOIN command to join all lines as one polyline. Quote
SLW210 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Scale using the center of the border as the base point. Quote
jreeder Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 Thank you! The offset method worked great. One question though: It truncates my offset input down to 3 significant figures ( .01082677 goes to 0.0108 ). How can I change it so it will except more significant figures? Quote
