Tridraft Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I am designing an aft motorcycle fender that has me scratching my head - should I develop this in one piece or two? 1) I have a 16" long piece forward section of 16ga that is formed to a 1.75" radius widthwise. The length is straight with no arc. 2) I have a 6" long piece aft section of 16ga that is formed to a 1.75" radius widthwise. This piece, in addition to the widthwise radius, is form to a 22" radius lengthwise. The 16" piece is no problem but I am having problems with the perpendicular radii of the 6" piece. What is the best way to do this and should I do it in one piece or two? Quote
kencaz Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I would use loft on the second piece since you have 2 bends... I did this in AutoCAD but it's the same concept in Inventor and even easier. Here I lofted using a Path... I am not sure what you mean by two pcs... if it's two parts IRL then model it that way and assemble... KC Quote
