BikeGuy Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Hey folks; Does anyone know of a good resource for learning intricate Solidworks functions for someone coming from an Autodesk Inventor background. I've had trouble projecting planes (default and user-created) onto a sketch surface and also getting a feature to create points in relation to each other so as to create a custom plane (workpoints in IV) thanks in advance for any suggestions Aaron Quote
JD Mather Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) Pretty much the same - just slight differences. Go through the SWx tutorials in my signature. Let me look around for an unpubished one in particular that I think will answer your question directly. You will want to become familiar with the Pierce relation in SWx. I think with that Relation you might not need as many Workpoints as you are custom to using in Inventor. Edited February 4, 2011 by JD Mather Quote

With the end condition options in SW you shouldnt have to create very many planes. If you have an example of what you are trying to draw maybe we can give you some insight into the procedure. Quote
