Grenco Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Hi there, I have a strange problem: I hope you can see the picture? Does anyone know how to fix it? It only happends when I am in a isometric view. It doesnt matter if I'm in 2d wireframe or another visualstyle... Another strange thing is that we have 2 settings of autocad. We have a 2d setting and a 3d setting. In 2d, I dont have any display problems when I look at my 3d-drawings.... It only happends in the 3d enviroment. I've compared the options-settings and there is no huge difference in display settings or whatever.... Please help me! Quote
ReMark Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I think it could be a graphics problem. What are the specs on your graphics chip or card? Quote

ReMark Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Have you tried turning hardware acceleration off? What are we looking at here by the way? What visual style are you using? Conceptual? Quote
Grenco Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 I tried turning it off... It's fixed... but then I had a problem with ehm... how do I say this.... Sticky crosshairs... When I move my crosshairs over the drawing, I get a 1000 crosshairs and the display isnt refreshed. I restarted AutoCAD en now it's ok.... (thanks for now!!! ) I was looking at a cylinder. Every visual style had the problem. From 2d wireframe to realistic and from conceptual to sketchy Quote
ReMark Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Are there a lot of objects in this 3D drawing? Does your system meet the minimum recommended specifications for running AutoCAD 2011? You must have 4GB of RAM installed? This is a 32-bit system? Quote
Grenco Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 The multiple crosshair you mean? Yes. Why? For the first problem I tried it with one cylinder and also with a "more complex" drawing. Quote
ReMark Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 No, I was not referring to the multiple crosshairs. I was asking if there were a lot of 3D objects in your drawing. You answered the question in your second sentence. Now, how about answering my other questions? Quote

Grenco Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 Is't not a bad computer... I think Quote
ReMark Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 No, it isn't but I would recommend switching over to a 64-bit OS and a 64-bit version of AutoCAD at some point. Maybe even consider bumping up the RAM too. Quote
Grenco Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 I tried a 64bit a few months ago. But there is a huge problem with 64bit. VBA is unbelievable SLOW and instable. And I need VBA a lot! So that's no option. (.NET is an option but my boss won't let me reprogram) Bumping up the RAM with 32bit has no use, right? 32bit only use 3gb? 64bit can do more? Quote
ReMark Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 A 64-bit OS will recognize more RAM. The best you could do in a 32-bit system is install the max amount of RAM (4GB) then add the 3GB switch to your boot.ini file (documented by Microsoft and AutoDesk). This will allow your OS to recognize more of your RAM but it will never recognize all 4GB. By doing this you can avoid some problems inherent with working on large, complex (usually 3D) drawings.
