Anyone have any idea what the symbol just above and to the right of my crosshair is, it just appeared a few moments ago, and I dont believe I have ever seen it before. Just curious.

It looks like a really small envelope or something from the Space Invaders arcade game. LOL

What were you doing when the symbol made its appearance?

I think I just got done copying lines using the insertion point of one text object to the insertion point of another.

was it following your crosshairs?

It's the icon that appears to tell you, you have shift pressed when you are doing a temporary override command i.e. Shift + D to turn off OSNAP and OTRACK.

My LT sometimes shows the match properties icon by my crosshairs when I haven't used the command in a while, I suppose it is a peculiarity of the programming.

I dont use shift too often, or temporary overrides, but that seems to be what causes it. interesting that it was there and went away on its own. Thanks everyone for the help.

It must be something to do with the same problem about the hour-glass over the layer drop-down: a simple non-update of the windows cursor (which ADesk simply doesn't fix ... for years). Not that it's a biggie though

I have to use temporary overides all the time, our drawings tend to have a lot of shaded areas and I'm forever snapping back to 0,0 which is can be a mile or more away from the building! Not good when you zoom out and all you can see of your drawing is one tiny little dot!
