CADMASTER1128 Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Good Morning everyone! I installed AutoCAD 2011 Architecture (Trial) to my laptop, Trueview 2011 as well and started to play around with AutoCAD. The performance is nice, but when I go to draw, it seems laggey and "rough". The best way to describe it is as if you were playing a video game and the frame per second weren't quite up to par. System Specs: Model - HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC Total amount of system memory - 4.00 GB RAM (DDR3) System type - 64-bit operating system Windows 7 Home Premium Number of processor cores - 2 Graphics Display adapter type - Intel® HD Graphics Total available graphics memory: 1696 MB Dedicated graphics memory: 64 MB Dedicated system memory: 0 MB Shared system memory: 1632 MB Display adapter driver version - 8.15.10.2141 Primary monitor resolution - 1366x768 DirectX version - DirectX 10 I have gone to the Autodesk site to see/ look into the certified cards, but saw nothing that relates to me. This issue appears in both AutoCAD and True view, which leads me to believe that this is an issue with the graphics card. Does anyone have any suggestions? Quote
ReMark Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Happy New Year CADMASTER. Try disabling hardware acceleration and see if it makes any difference. Quote
f700es Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 I hate to say it but your problem is = "Display adapter type - Intel® HD Graphics" Your system does not meet AutoCAD's needed hardware requirements. Remark's post might help but with that system you will never have a smooth time with AutoCAD. Quote
CADMASTER1128 Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 Who is in the mood for a funny story? Tried ReMark's advice and went to disable the hardware acceleration, well it was already disabled. So i enabled it to see if it would help, and everything works just fine and perfect! Thank for pointing me in the right direction. Quote
ReMark Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Ahhhhhhhh........that's what I meant to say. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Glad to hear that reverse logic saved the say. Heck, I always did do exactly opposite what my ol' pappy used to say. Gots me in a heap-o-trouble too. Yeeeeeehah! Thanks for the update CM. Quote
CADMASTER1128 Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 Yes let's go with that... you meant to say that! Next you need to proof read what you say. HAHAHA But thank you for the advice, you saved me Remark (as usual) Quote
