Attach Text To A Line - How To?

This is my first day with AutoCAD. I apologize for the google-able question.

 

With Visio i am able to draw a line and easily attach text to it. I can't figure out (blindly stumble upon) how to do it with AutoCAD.

 

An example : I have speaker symbols with the LV wiring connect to them. I want to add a note to the home run portion of the cable like this :

I know that i can add text and move it to the line but i would like to have it attached so that the text moves if i move the line.

Welcome in the forum!

Convert the line to block and make the text an attribute. The attribute will move with the block.
