stpmmaths Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I know this a very simple question, LOL! How to make this thing solid? I actually drawn this by using just lines Quote
ReMark Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Normally you could use PressPull on lines but the unusual shape may cause you some problems. Post the drawing file itself so someone here can have a crack at it. Quote
qball Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I assume your lines are already drawn in 3d? I think the solution is 3DPoly, then Region all the closed polylines, ConvToSurf, Union, ConvToSolid. I got some of that from here: http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2010/ENU/AutoCAD%202010%20User%20Documentation/index.html?url=WS1a9193826455f5ff-12ba6b3a11a9c207460-7ce2.htm,topicNumber=d0e95992 But I tried it and it said "Object cannot be converted" on the last step... fuccaro Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 From the two images I am not sure I can figure the solid, but you may try to draw a big cube to include the lines and use the SLICE command multiple times. Since you already have those lines, you can pick the endpoints to define the slicing planes. Quote
stpmmaths Posted November 19, 2010 Author Posted November 19, 2010 Er, actually I was just trying to make those kind of "Artistic lines" to solid. Never mind. LOL. Quote

Yea, you're right. I do mind actually. I was think is there any new ways(which I don't know) to turn just lines into solid. Quote
ReMark Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 No other ways than those you already know or that were mentioned here. Again, post the drawing and let us play with it. You probably find there is more than one way to accomplish the task. We'll have some fun trying to solve the puzzle and we'll all learn something new in the process. That's how we share and learn...together. Otherwise, what is the sense of belonging to an AutoCAD Help forum? Quote

JD Mather Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Yea, you're right. I do mind actually. I was think is there any new ways(which I don't know) to turn just lines into solid. New ways? Autodesk Inventor loft surfaces and stitch or sculpt. AutoCAD 2011, loft surfaces and sculpt. Attach your dwg here. Quote
