traffic_chimp Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Hi - I've been a lurker for some time, this is the first real problem I've havent managed to find an answer for (maybe I don't have the correct terminologies?!) Any way, I'm a fairly casual Autocad user - I have Autocad 2008. I have a 3D triangulation model (type thing) exported from MX. What I would like to do is turn this into a 3ds surface type thing that I can then import into another program to use as a mapping surface I had a bit of a fiddle with the 3dsout and so on but not really getting anywhere. any ideas? Thank you Al Quote

What is MX? So you exported from MX and Imported to Autocad? What program do you want to take this into, and why didn't you just go directly into the other program in the first place? Why this detour into Autocad? You said you tried 3DSOUT, but it didn't work? What was the problem? Have you tried .dxf format? What about Exporting to .sat or .stl? Quote
