I'm trying to create a new dimstyle for our firm but I don't know what to do for certain properties such as: "Scale dimensions to layout" vs "Use overall scale of"

Help?

Thanks!

Do you plan to place dimensions in model space or paper space?

Selecting 'Use overall scale of...' globally sets the scale of dimension features, such as text height, gaps, extension lines, arrows, etc. When using this option, go back to Format/Text Style and ensure that all of your style names are set to height of 0.0.

Selecting 'Scale dimensions to layout' forces the dimension features to the same scale for each viewport in your layout.

So if you dimension in paper space, consider using an overall scale of 1.0.
