how did you create the Object 1, is it supposed to be a solid object?

I would have drawn a line representing the front edge of your red object and extruded it as a surface and used this to slice the chain choosing to discard the remainder.

This problem happens because the edge of the solid red is tangent to internal face of tha ring.

I believe you need move, even slightly, the solid red, to avoid this.

hoss,

Yes it is solid. It made from a circle profile sweep to an ellipse path.

ReMark,

I can subtract the other links using the object 2 (red) as subtracter, but still can't subtract or slice the yellow one.

marmo,

Yes, maybe you're right, but I need to show those surface section.

Is there any other way perhaps?

Than you for help.

I moved the solid red along Z axis of a value equal to 0.001.

Ya it works. thanks Marmo.

By the way what do you mean by "The point of contact can not be a dot or a surface"?

Hei, I think I found a new trick for it beside moving the object 2 (red).

At first I copied the object 2 (red) in the middle of object 1 (yellow), see the green object. Then I used this green object to slice the yellow one, and keep the both sides. I changed it's half with magenta then finally subtracted it by object 2 (red).

Well, that's it. I think I already solve my problem now.

But thank you guys for the advices.:)
