busseynova Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Hi all, I've managed to get the company onside with the idea of a new computer after a couple of close calls with deadlines due to bad 3D handling of my current set-up, I'm learning a lot about what might be a suitable spec here, but the guy that's in charge of paying for it wants to hear it from a professional. We have been using CADpoint but everytime he deals with them, they just try and sell him 3DSmax, which isn't really suitable for us right now. Does anyone have good experiences with any UK based IT support that know a good bit about CAD and its applications. Not sure how many people on here are UK based, but I know there must be a few....? Pablo Ferral Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 It Depends on where your based. Check this out first - and then come back to us If you want more information on any of the VAR's you are considering: http://www.autodesk.co.uk/adsk/servlet/partner/search?siteID=452932&id=901984 Quote
busseynova Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Thanks, that's a good start. I'm based in High Wycombe, just outside of West London. Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a VAR? Something something retailer/reseller? Cheers, Tom. Quote
busseynova Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 Bump.... Any more suggestions? Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 ...Been away on my Hols... VAR = 'Value added reseller'. Try Midas/Cadline, Adris, or Exitech. Quote
