Laying large 2d landscape plan on 3d contor lines

Hello all,

 

I have been given a very large landscape/masterplan produced in 2d using os data, i want to lay this with all the details, hatching etc over the contor data i have in Civil 3d so i can play with it a little and then export to 3dws max for modelling.

 

Is this possible and if so how do i go about it ?

Maybe if you were to make an image file of the landscape plan you could use Surfaces > Utilities > Drape image

Hi thanks for the quick reply, i have done that already but want to be able to edit further as neccesary.

You can't (for example) 'drape' a hatch over a surface, the boundary of a hatch must be in 1 plane.

I thought that may be the case, could i remove the hatch etc and lay the 2d polylines over the contours ?
